ELEW (Eric Lewis) is an American pianist and composer who has forged a unique path by blending jazz, classical and rock into a genre he calls “Rockjazz.” A former jazz virtuoso with credits alongside Wynton Marsalis, Elvin Jones and Cassandra Wilson, he reinvented himself as a boundary-breaking solo artist, transforming the piano into a force of rhythm, harmony and spectacle. His performances often involve striking techniques—standing to play, plucking strings inside the piano, or fusing percussive power with delicate lyricism—all delivered with electrifying energy.
Beyond the concert stage, ELEW has become a cultural presence, performing at festivals, private events and collaborations that range from Josh Groban to The Roots. His recordings reimagine rock and pop anthems through the piano while showcasing original works that bridge virtuosity with visceral impact. With a style that defies categorisation yet remains deeply rooted in tradition, ELEW embodies the spirit of innovation that keeps instrumental music fresh, surprising and profoundly engaging.
