Dallas String Quartet (DSQ) is an American string ensemble from Dallas, Texas, founded in 2007 by violist Ion Zanca. With roots in classical training, the group soon expanded into crossover territory, blending traditional and electric strings with drums, guitar and piano. Their style, often described as “Bach meets Bon Jovi,” pairs polished technique with cinematic arrangements of pop, rock, film and holiday favourites. Their videos, including covers of Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir and Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams, have reached wide audiences on YouTube and earned them a devoted following.
DSQ’s recording career includes several Billboard-charting classical crossover albums such as Love Always and Romani: The Untold Story. They have also built a reputation for their live performances at major events, from private concerts to stadium shows, including appearances for Presidents, sports leagues and international corporations. Whether performing intimate acoustic sets or full-band productions, DSQ offers an engaging and visually striking experience that bridges classical tradition with modern popular music.
