Frank Dupree is a German pianist, conductor, and winner of the International Classical Music Award and Opus Klassik. Celebrated for his energy and versatility, he appears worldwide as a soloist, play/direct artist, and with his own jazz ensemble, the Frank Dupree Trio. Since 2023 he has also served as Artistic Partner of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, performing each season as both conductor and soloist.
Much of Dupree’s recent work focuses on the music of Nikolai Kapustin. His acclaimed recordings of Kapustin’s piano concertos have earned international prizes, including the Diapason d’Or, with The New York Times praising them as “one of the most entertaining and put-on-repeat recordings of the year.” His latest release, due in 2024 on Capriccio, features Kapustin’s Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 6 with the SWR Symphony Orchestra and SWR Big Band.
