Lang Lang is a Chinese concert pianist widely regarded as one of the most talented and influential pianists of his generation. He began his piano studies at the age of three, and by the time he was five, he had already performed with orchestras. His breakthrough came at the age of 17 when he performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, which catapulted him into the international spotlight.
Lang Lang’s repertoire spans a wide range of classical works, with a particular focus on the piano concertos of composers such as Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Chopin. Beyond his classical roots, Lang Lang has also collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from pop stars to symphony orchestras, helping to bridge the gap between classical and contemporary music.
In addition to his performing career, Lang Lang is a dedicated advocate for music education. He founded the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, which aims to inspire and support young pianists around the world. He also works closely with organizations to promote music education, particularly in underprivileged areas.
