Carlos Damas, born in Coimbra, Portugal in 1973, is an internationally acclaimed violinist recognized for his expressive style and refined interpretations. He began playing at the age of three and made his solo debut at fifteen with the Portuguese Radio Symphony Orchestra. His advanced studies in Paris under Jacqueline Lefèvre and Ivry Gitlis, as well as guidance from Yehudi Menuhin, shaped his artistry and launched his international career. Renowned for his interpretations of Fritz Kreisler, Damas has received high praise from leading classical music publications. He has also championed Portuguese composers, recording world premieres of works by António Fragoso, Luís de Freitas Branco, Fernando Lopes-Graça, and Sérgio Azevedo. - ConTempo Quartet
The ConTempo Quartet, founded in Bucharest in 1995, is made up of violinists Bogdan Sofei and Ingrid Nicola, violist Andreea Banciu, and cellist Adrian Mantu. Originally formed while the musicians were students, the ensemble later moved to Ireland in 2003, where they became Galway’s ensemble-in-residence and began a long-standing role in performance and education. The quartet has won numerous international awards and built a reputation for dynamic, imaginative performances. They have toured widely, playing in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Wigmore Hall, the Berliner Philharmonie, and Carnegie Hall, and have performed for figures such as Pope John Paul II and Nelson Mandela. In addition to their international career, ConTempo is deeply committed to education and cultural outreach. They have delivered masterclasses, collaborated across genres, and performed complete Beethoven and Bartók cycles in Ireland. - Daniel Hope
British violinist Daniel Hope has enjoyed a thriving international solo career for more than 35 years. Celebrated for his musical versatility and dedication to humanitarian causes, he has been recognized with a string of honors including the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and the 2015 European Culture Prize for Music. Besides undertaking solo recitals, chamber concerts, and concerto collaborations with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors, Hope also directs many ensembles from the violin, succeeding Sir Roger Norrington as Music Director of the Zurich Chamber Orchestra in 2016 and becoming Music Director of San Francisco’s New Century Chamber Orchestra two years later. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artist since 2007, he has an award-winning discography and is also a popular radio and television host who during the pandemic anchored the award-winning streaming and TV series Hope@Home. In 2019 he completed his 16th and final season as Associate Artistic Director of Georgia’s Savannah Music Festival and became Artistic Director of Dresden’s Frauenkirche Cathedral. Daniel Lozakovich (b. 2001) is a Swedish violinist who has quickly risen to international prominence as one of the most gifted classical musicians of his generation. Born in Stockholm to Russian and Kyrgyz parents, he began playing the violin at age six and made his concerto debut at just nine years old. Recognized early on for his prodigious talent, he went on to study with renowned teachers such as Josef Rissin and Eduard Wulfson, refining a sound admired for its depth, maturity, and emotional intensity well beyond his years. Jarrod Radnich is a celebrated composer, pianist, arranger, producer, educator, and innovator often likened to Franz Liszt. As his career developed he was discovered by record producer Pete Waterman leading to a record deal with Universal/Decca Classics and a No.1 album, ‘Duel’, in the UK Classical Charts. Since topping the UK Classical charts, Craig has performed all over the world as a solo recording artist, and with a number of stars including Jose Carreras, Tina Turner and Sir Cliff Richard. Recent solo performances include concerts at the first ever nighttime F1 Grand Prix in Singapore, Royal Albert Hall in London with the English Chamber Orchestra, and in Dubai at the DIFC with the London Concert Orchestra. Y-Squared is a classical music duo featuring Yelian He on cello and Yasmin Rowe on piano . They formed in 2008 and their name is a playful combination of their first initials.They perform both classic and contemporary cello and piano repertoire, and have released a debut CD called "Y2" which includes works by Mendelssohn, Schumann-Liszt, Kapustin, Piazzolla, and Henryson. Y-Squared has performed and given masterclasses internationally in Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Their debut CD was picked up by British Airways for their in-flight entertainment system. They have also released music videos, including a performance of Chopin's Cello Sonata and Kapustin's Burlesque, produced by the City Music Foundation .
